The below outlines what tasks to complete during your one week trip in Jamaica to setup your long-term rental. It’s a lot to accomplish, but you’ll know what to do each step of the way!
While in Jamaica, you should be in management mode. If you planned accordingly before arriving, you should be in a great position to get the home setup quickly. Your main focus should be keeping contractors on schedule and ensuring projects are completed on the specified day so your home setup doesn’t get delayed.
Day One
- Take Possession of your new home and Inspect for any defects
- Buy materials needed for contractors that will be arriving day two
- Copy keys from the developer to ensure you have extras
Day Two
- Ceiling Fan and A/C Installation
- Curtain Rod Installation
- Garbage bin and clothes line installation
- Start Landscaping
- Follow-up on fixes by developer
Day Three
- A/C Sensor Installation
- Clean Interior of Home
- Meet with Property Management Company
Day Four
- Have Real Estate Agent take pictures for Long-Term Rental Listing
Days Five – Seven
- Follow-up on fixes by developer
- Complete any installation or improvement projects
- Ensure Real Estate Agent has all info to list home on MLS
